Wires

Hope some can help,

I have an old thermostat, inside are 4 wires one connected to the 1(brown) and one connected to the 3 ( black)

I also have a blue wire which isn't connected and an earth (green and yellow) also not connected.

In the learning thermostat heating link there is a 1 and 3 which I assume is straightforward but I have no idea were the blue one goes🤷‍♂️

Can some body help or advise

I have attached the photo of the old thermostat

Thank you PXL_20220901_151103079.jpg

Where are you located? USA/Canada or UK/Europe.

It looks like it uses AC Line Voltage which isn't compatible with the USA/Canada versions of the Nest thermostats.

I'm not able to help you if you are from the UK/Europe area as I know nothing about the Nest HeatLink setup.

Located in the UK, I think I may have figured it out, I'll let you know

Thanks 👍

Hi there @Neash21.

Thanks for reaching out. You can check the compatibility for the thermostats with our compatibility widget from the Google Store here: https://goo.gle/2UDR7jj

Let me know if you've managed to find out.

So I figured it out, I had to buy a 6 core cable and completely change the wires that were in the boiler, happy to report it is all up and running just to install the thermostat itself now which I'm hoping will be a cinch

Thanks for all the help 👍

Hi @Neash21. Just checking in, how's it going with the thermostat? Is there anything else we can assist you with at the moment?
