Hello Pbringman,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

Connecting a Nest Learning Thermostat to your existing wiring is generally straightforward. Based on the wires you've listed for your old thermostat, here's a suggested wiring configuration for the Nest Thermostat:

  • Connect the C wire to the C terminal on the Nest Thermostat.
  • Connect the R wire to the R terminal on the Nest Thermostat.
  • Connect the W1 wire to the W1 terminal on the Nest Thermostat.
  • Connect the O/B wire to the O/B terminal on the Nest Thermostat.
  • Connect the G wire to the G terminal on the Nest Thermostat.
  • Connect the Y1 wire to the Y1 terminal on the Nest Thermostat.

If you had a jumper wire between W1 and W2 in your old thermostat, it might be used for a two-stage heating system. In that case, the Nest Thermostat will handle it automatically when you connect it to the W1.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Best regards,
Mark
