I am very interested in purchasing the nest, but not sure if my system is truly compatible. I removed the existing thermostat, and see that there is NO green wire, that a blue one, that is connected to the green area is the existing old thermostat. Since I don’t see a green colored wire, will it not work ? Or does the blue go in green slot as showed below? Please advise.

Never go by just the wire color as there is no standard.
You can try this.
White - W to W
Yellow - Y to Y
Blue - G to G
Red - RC to R (jumper to RH not needed)
If there is a spare wire behind the thermostat, I suggest using it to create a C wire. If there isn't, you can use the Nest Power Connecter. I always install a C wire to help prevent problems down the road

Hello LightTheSky1021,
The color of the wire is not all that critical, it is the terminal letter. While it is common a green wire is connected to G, any color will work. Nest Thermostats are generally compatible. HOWEVER, you may, in some cases, need a C (common) wire.
See the compatibility checker for more information about which thermostat will work in your case.
