Wiring question

Had a question while installing the Nest Thermostat. My Heat Pump/Air Conditioner had an Emerson thermostat. The wiring included a white wire connected to W2.

The Nest guided installation didn't have a place for a W2. Is it okay to connect to W1? Or is there a better connection terminal?

I connected to W1 and it is working fine, but we're in air conditioning season right now.

Can you post a picture of the original thermostat's wiring here?

Try this wiring,

Red - R to Rc

Orange = O/B to OB

Yellow - Y to Y1

Green - G to G

Blue - C to C

White - W2 to W2/AUX

Hi Patrick! Thanks for this. I feel like an idiot, but honestly the markings are so faintly printed on the Nest connection ring that I missed that there was a W2! I had everything right except for putting the white wire in W1. So again, thank you!  -Lee
