Hi ideashcl,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I am sorry that you are having issues with your Thermostat wiring. I'd be happy to help you. Let’s check it out.

Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

  • Does the thermostat display show any error codes or messages?
  • Are you able to share a picture of your wiring?
  • Have you followed any troubleshooting already?
  • What Nest Thermostat model do you have?
  • What type of system do you have? (Heat Pump or conventional type)
  • Did you verify if the fan, cooling and heating are still working?

Here are some basic steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Power Cycle the Thermostat: Turn off the breaker that supplies power to your HVAC system for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on. This can sometimes help reset the thermostat. However you can check the following article to Restart or reset a Nest thermostat depending on your devices model. .
  • Check that your system doesn't need maintenance.

Note: If you're not comfortable working with electrical wiring, consult a qualified technician (Nest pro).

You can also review this article to Install your Nest thermostat.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Mario
