connecting nest thermostat to google home

I've set up my nest thermostat, added it to the nest app - works fine - I then tried to add it to the google home app - it asks to scan the qr code, which appears successful -  but then it doesn't appear in the home app and I cant control it from a nest mini.

I've also tried to add it to alexa, but when it reaches my google account it says there are no devices to add.

You can't add a Nest Learning Thermostat to the Google Home app, you have to use the Nest App.

Now with that said, the learning Thermostat should automatically show in the Home App once it is correctly added to the Nest App.
