cooling Not an option on new nest.

I just installed a Nest thermostat and the heat is great, but it does not recognize the Honeywell AC unit as existing.

It says the Y wire is unkown.. Somewhere i read to install the K wire from a honeywell system to the Y wire of the Nest thermostat.

here is a shot of my original wires

The K wire on a Honeywell thermostat combines the Y and G wires. This is done using the Honeywell wire saver, which is incompatible with the Google Nest Thermostat.

You must replace the Honeywell wire saver with the Google Nest Power Connector to correct this. You need the power connector because you only have 4 wires, and 5-wires are required.
