Thanks for reaching out @Fin . I'm sorry to hear you are having difficulties again with your device and I'd be happy to try and assist. Could you give me more details about what exactly is going on with your Heat Link?

Hi Alex,

If we turn up the nest stat it does not operate the boiler although the stat turns red and says we will achieve heating temp in 50 mins etc. The combination boiler is working as it should to deliver hot water. We have tried resetting the heat link but this has had no effect.

Thanks, Fin

Gotcha. It is expected for the hot water to work for a combi boiler, as it is not controlled from the thermostat. Generally it is controlled by the boiler and made on demand.

The thermostat display seems to be reacting as I would expect. Turning orange when increasing the temperature above the ambient one. What color LED do you see on the Heat Link, the single green one?

i am not in front of it currently but yes a solid green led from memory. Should this be flashing for the boiler to operate?

No, that is what we would expect to see if it is connected to the thermostat, a solid green light. If it was disconnected we would only see a orange or blinking blue LED.

In this case, let us next to a test, when you can go to the Heat Link with the Nest app on a mobile device.

1. Make sure the heating is set to be off, display black.

2. Turn up the temperature until the display goes orange, heat on, and listen for a clicking noise from the Heat Link.

3. Turn the temperature back down until the display goes black, heat off, and listen for a clicking noise from the Heat Link again.

We want to check how the internal relays are behaving, let me know if they make the clicking noise.

Also, after, try pressing the button on the Heat Link. Two additional green LED lights should come on, that is the manual mode where both heating and hot water relay is activated. Listen for a click and see if the boiler has any reaction when putting it in manual mode. To take it out of manual mode just press the button in the middle of the Heat Link again.
