hot water boost not working, but scheduled hot water is working fine.

My boiler is not firing for hot water when I use the hot water boost either from my nest controller or phone app.

The system is working fine for turning on the hot water via schedule or for turning on the radiator heating.

When i want to boost the hot water I need to make a schedule either from the nest controller my phone.  This works fine so I know the heat link, electrics, hot water tank, actuators and boiler is working, just that the hot water boost function is not working.

The firmware of the nest controller is up to date, and I have restarted the controller, but the hot water boost function still does not work (heating and scheduled hot water works fine after the reboot).  For example at 13:20 I tried to boost hot water with out success. I set a hot water schedule to come on at 13:30 to 14:00 and the boiler fired without issues to fill the hot water tank.

Thermostat Model:   Display-3.6

Heat Link Model: Amber-2.5

Gas boiler and hot water tank (not a combi system).

Hi

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I’m sorry to hear that your boiler is not firing for hot water when you use the hot water boost from your Nest controller or phone app. I appreciate you taking the time to perform troubleshooting steps to fix the issue, and still it is not resolved, but no worries; I am happy to assist you this time.

I'd like to ask you a few questions in order to gather more information about the concern and find the best way to fix it.

  • Do you have a system or a combi boiler? Is the control On/Off or Opentherm?
  • What's the status of the Heat Link's LED light?
  • When did the issue start?
  • Does the display show a water droplet inside of a circle?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Gabriela
