just bought a new Carrier HVAC. Humidity level on thermostat is wrong, causing my air and airwave to run way to frequently and too long. It takes 45 minutes running to go down 1 degree (my condo is 1 level and is small). It says I have 44% humidity in my condo. I live in a desert. The outside humidity is now 22%. The wall my unit is on is not hot. How can this be fixed.

So.. lots of factors here.
First, can you get access to a humidity meter to test independently of the nest, as 44 percent humidity inside is about right assuming you have hardwood etc etc. Saying this, if you can test and confirm that the nest is in fact reading the humidity wrong , next thing to test is the wall it is installed on, if it's a hollow wall and there are drafts in the wall, that can alter the reading as well.

The technician came back. Said the thermostat was definitely not working properly. He removed it and replaced it with an Emerson which is working perfectly. Problem solved.
