We have two newly installed Nest E thermostats, and they are both functioning to control their respective furnaces. However I was unable to add either one to the Nest App on my iPhone 16. They could be added to the Nest app on my wife's iPhone 14, and to a friend's Android phone Nest app. Then when I reset to factory settings and try the iPhone 16, it won't connect. I've tried restarting everything: phone, app download, router, and thermostat. I checked privacy settings and the Nest App has access to local networks and to Bluetooth. I have also been able to connect both of the thermostats to our home Wifi, so that's not the issue.
The App gets almost to the end adding the thermostat to my account, setting up wifi and so forth, and then displays an error message saying the thermostat cannot be added to the account. Can be TD009 or others.
Any help more than welcome.

Update: I had tried multiple 2.4G wifi options, none of which worked--so there is still a problem. But a try with the 5G version of one of those routers did finally allow me to connect my app to the thermostat. Oddly, during the process of connecting, I still got a TD009 error message saying that the connection had failed. But when I backed out of the connection process, there was the thermostat connected.
