nest and google home

Hi all,

Would like your expert help with some issues I've run into.

I have set up my nest thermostats through my google home app. they are working as they should.

I wanted to add a temperature sensor but google home is telling me I need to install that through the nest app.

however, when i log in to the nest app using the same email as the google home, none of my nest thermostats are showing up.

am i missing something or do i need to install the thermostats again through the nest app?

Google Nest has set it up so that the "Nest Thermostat" can only be controlled by the Google Home app and does not appear in the Google Nest app:

Thank you! So do you know how I can add the temperature sensor? The home app will not allow me to do it.

I don't know; we don't have a Nest thermostat. But this Help article says "The Nest Temperature Sensor is only compatible with the Google Nest Thermostat E and Google Nest Learning Thermostat."

Perhaps another customer or someone from Google Nest can provide more information.

@gogoldoc, thanks for reaching out. Like what MplsCustomer mentioned. The Nest Sensor is only compatible with the Google Nest Thermostat E and Google Nest Learning Thermostat. We don't have any news to share if the Nest Sensor would be available with the Google Nest Thermostat. Our team is always looking for ways to improve and we'll take this as feedback.
