My nest thermostat was working fine (installed 1st week of July of this year 2023)  until we had a city wide power outage this morning.  Since then my nest will no longer find my wifi or even my phone's hotspot connection. I have done endless amounts of resets and account resets and even a full reset to default settings and still no luck in finding any wifi connections.

Im totally stumped and not sure what to do next.  Help!

If you've already tried restarting the thermostat, and even a reset by the sounds of it, the next step is to contact the Google Nest support team.

  1. Go to Contact Us - Google Nest Help
  2. Select an appropriate product or category, type a brief description of the issue, then click Next.
  3. Click Other, then click Next step.
  4. In the Resources section, click Next step.
  5. Choose to get a phone call, call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

When you reach an agent, let them know that you’ve already tried restarting the thermostat. I'd recommend having your thermostat’s serial number ready. To find your thermostat’s serial number, pull the display off the base and flip it over. The serial number is above the QR code on the back of the display.

Thanks David as it turned out google support determined that the unit is faulty and with it being under warranty its getting replaced.
