My Google Nest 3rd Generation suddenly stopped working three days ago.
It does not power up.
The light on the face is completely off.
My Google Mesh internet works fine.
I turned all the circuit breakers off and on in the house: no go.
The Nest was installed two years ago by a Nest Pro and has been working fine. I was able to adjust it remotely over the internet for two years, and my internet continues to work.
I removed the Nest from the wall last night and charged it overnight using a usb cable but it did not charge.
I took it off the wall and put it back on several times; no go.
The Next was installed by a Nest Pro and the wires have not shifted. They are all installed properly.
I'm thinking that either the internal batteries have died, or the Nest has died.
The weather here in New York will be above 90 F for the next few days and I would like to have a working HVAC system.
Any ideas?

This might sound odd, but if you put your ear right up to the display, can you hear a clicking noise. A very feint clicking?
Have you done a reset by first pressing against the wall and then release when you see the logo come on, or better by going into settings, and reset that way?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
No, there is no faint clicking. There is no sound at all.
It does not power up.

OK understood, just worth a try as that does happen at times.
I think a call to Google is the best idea, as waiting here for an answer, well I think you know the outcome!

can you call Google? I didn't know that. Is there a warranty on these things? They are very expensive if they will only last for two years...

How is the Nest wired? Does it have a C wire?
Have you tried removing it from its base and using a USB cord to charge it?
