nest thermostat - alexa temperature control by voice

Hi,

before migration I could set nest temp using alexa voice command, but since today my alexa says "I do not know how to set nest to that setting".

Checking temperature works, but "alexa set nest temperature at 20" does not work any more...

Not sure why companies always complicate stuff 😕

Please advise

Hi SIndragon,

Uh-oh! Have you tried to re-link you Google Nest for Alexa skill? If not yet, follow these:

  1. You must first take (or have taken) their account through migration.
  2. Once you have completed migration, you'll receive an email with a link to the new skill, titled "Re-enable your Alexa Skill":
  3. Click the large blue Enable Alexa button in the email which will take them to the skill page inside the Alexa app or desktop site.
    • If you can't find the email, use the flow in the previous section above to find the skill using the Alexa app.
  4. Click Continue at the bottom of the page.
  5. This will open a Google sign in screen. You should sign in with their Google Account (that you've migrated your Nest account to).
  6. There will be a screen that shows all of your devices and you can choose which devices to control with Alexa. Use the blue toggle to enable the products they want to connect. You don’t have to connect them all.
    • For example, if you only want to connect your hallway thermostat, but not your living room thermostat, then you can switch off your living room thermostat by disabling the blue toggle switch. Similarly, if you want to be able to show your outdoor camera, but you don’t want to connect Alexa to the camera in your baby’s room, you can choose not to share that camera.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe

I came back home today and it works now without me doing anything since then... looks like it fixed itself. Thanks
