For you to be able to control the thermostat remotely, you'll need to add it to its specific app. The application that you will need to use will depend on which model of thermostat you have. It could be either the Nest app or the Google Home app.
If you have a Nest Learning thermostat or a Nest thermostat E, follow this guide on How to Add your Thermostats to the Nest app.
If you have the most recent Nest thermostat instead, you can follow this guide on how to get started with your Nest thermostat.
Make sure both the thermostat and your phone are connected to a stable Wi-Fi connection before trying any of these steps.
