What type of thermostat do you have?

Is this a new thermostat, or did you receive it as a replacement?

When did you install the thermostat?

When did the issue begin?
Before troubleshooting the thermostat, please make sure about the following:

The thermostat display is seated properly, and all the wires are secure in their terminals (and lying flat).

Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws of the base by a half or quarter of a (counterclockwise) turn. This should help if the base is screwed too tightly to the wall.

Remove the thermostat display from its base and check if any connector pins are bent.

Make sure you replace the whole device (display and base plate).
