Thanks for your reply.  i read the s Nest Thermostat temperature modes article.  My question is how many times can I program a temperature change during one day?  Before i buy one, I want to know if I could set a different  temp for 5am, 6am, 2pm, 3pm, 7pm, and 11pm?   Is there a limit ?

There is typically no limit to the number of temperature changes you can program within a day.
