"My AC and Heater never turn off, even if they reach the set temperature or if I set them to off."

My AC and Heater (Heat pump) never turn off, even if they reach the set temperature or if I set them to off. They keep blowing air, whether it is heat or AC. The only way to turn off the AC is to cut the power from the circuit breaker. The wiring could be a potential issue, but I'm not sure. I remember it stopped after some time in the past, but now it just keeps blowing air.

Hello BCreek,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for sharing your old thermostat wiring setup. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

To isolate:

  • What other strange symptoms have you experienced since the problem started?
  • Are there any error messages? If so, what are they exactly?
  • When was the last maintenance check for your HVAC system?
  • Have there been any recent changes or upgrades to your HVAC system?
  • Have you experienced any power outages within the last few days or weeks?
  • Please check your thermostat's power readings in the Technical Info settings.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark
