thermostat won't connect to wifi nor recognise any wifi.

Hi! Having the same issue. Did a complete factory reset including a reset of the modem and the thermostat will not connect to my home wifi. I have it currently connected through my phone's hotspot but this doesn't do me any good when I leave the house.

This seems to be a common complaint as of late.  Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

Hi Chris57,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you cannot connect your Google Nest thermostat to your Wi-Fi. I'm happy to assist you!

Before I can help, I need to ask you a few questions to better understand the situation.

  • What Nest thermostat model do you have?
  • Is your thermostat device showing any error or code message?
  • What's the software version of your thermostat?
  • Can your other devices find your Wi-Fi network name (SSID)?
  • Do you only have one Wi-Fi network, or are there others?
    • If yes, do any of them end in "_ext"?
  • Are there any devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the thermostat that might be interfering with the Wi-Fi signal?

I'm awaiting your response.

Regards,

Manuel
