today i turned down my thermostat on the stat and  went out, when i came home the heating was on why?

i have no schedules set . still really working out how to use it .

its a new install boiler and nest learning thermostat trying to work out whats best , got the app ect installed on phone , old boiler had times set to come on, and if the stat called for heat it would come on. cannot work out how to do this on the nest. i would like to set a time where if the stat calls for heat it comes on but only at the time zones i specify not when the nest feels like it (when im not at home) any suggestions

Your Nest is trying to learn your schedule, probably you're normally home at that time.

Turn off auto schedule learning and set a schedule manually. Leave on True Radiant. Set geofencing. If need be, turn on the heat manually before going home.
