like others i am having a reading too high. currently perfect 72 outside, old thermostat reading 73, nest readying 78.
have restarted nest a few times, updated software, turned OFF sunblock. verified all wires are snugly connected inside.
anything else i can try or am I gonna have to live with this?

Hi, I have the same problem. Bought another Nest thermostat to install in our holiday home, Thought I'd setup here first, but its reading 4 degrees higher than the existing one, and confirmed with separate thermometer - Definitely reading wrong.
#I've followed instructions above, and no change.
Disconnected WiFi, as mentioned in other posts, still no joy.
This makes the thing useless really.
Please advise if there is anyway to recalibrate the temperature reading, otherwise it is not fit for purpose.
Thanks
Andy
