unable to connect thermostat to app

My nest is unable to connect to my app. The codes generated by the nest do not function for connecting to my account.

I have had a considerable amount of issues with the doorbell, outdoor  cameras, and now the thermostat.

I created a post ppreviously documenting my issues and it was closed.

I was asked to fill out a form. I did. I was told someone would reach out.

Nobody reached out.

It has been almost 2 months since the beginning of this issue.

I feel Google has silently deprecated older versions of the nest hardware NY preventing the app from functioning with it.

Here is the original post.

During your previous troubleshooting, did you try these steps?

1. Factory reset the thermostat, to start afresh.
2. If you haven’t already, download the Nest app on a phone or tablet.
3. On the Nest app home screen, tap the Settings cog.
4. Tap Add product. The app will switch to a camera view to scan the thermostat’s QR code.
5. On the thermostat, press it to open the quick view menu and tap the Settings cog.
6. Turn the ring to select Nest app and press to open it.
7. Select QR code. Your thermostat will show you a unique QR code to scan with the
app. If it doesn't, tap Continue without scanning in the app and select Get entry
key on your thermostat instead.
8. Follow the remaining steps in the Nest app.

David,

I've tried all steps mentioned.

I'm not sure if it is because the app entry key is always 3 numbers a dash and 4 letters.

Example:

111-ABCD

The app does not allow the dash to be entered. I've also tried adding it from the web page.

Always get an error that the entry key is not valid.

That doesn't sound right. To confirm, what model of thermostat do you have?
