your thermostat has detected a problem with the G wire

today had a handy man pull off our NEST thermo from the wall, out it back on and the (your thermostat has detected a problem with the G wire) WHY?

It's possible that when he pulled it off the base the G wire got dislodged, first thing to try is making sure there is a snug connection with that wire and reseating the thermostat

thank you.  we did that first thing.  the air unit just keeps recycling for 1-2 minuets at a time., once in a while blowing cold air.

Same problem here. I really wish Google would be more helpful. It has to be the Nest.
