Adding WiFi point to existing mesh

I’m sure this has been asked and answered.  But I’ll go with it anyway.  (Also, I have finally been surpassed with technology and am turning into a grumpy old man that can’t figure out the remotes to TV’s 🤣)

First, from what I am reading, there is a difference between a google WiFi point and a google nest point.  Is that correct?

my problem.  I have an existing mesh with 1 router and 2 “access points?”  All are “google WiFi”. I have bought a 3rd “google WiFi” to add to the mesh system.

However, I absolutely cannot get it to connect to the existing mesh.

The access point skips right to the option of setting up as a new network.  Ie, I do the steps:

Add device

Connect to home.

Searching and finds the SB1234 and asks if I want to join that network instead of my existing network.  From there, I can get through a few more screens before it fails.  (which makes sense because it is acting as it’s own WiFi point and it isn’t physically connected to anything)

I will say a couple of things:

I have factory reset and get a flashing blue when trying to connect

I have also seen some advice about getting it from the same country?  I only know that it was probably made for Europe because it came with an American plug adapter.

Is there anything I can do or should I just return it?

thanks!!

Here are info on the three different models:

Here are info on combining them:

And yes, combining pucks from different regions/ countries won't work, this is likely due to differences in Wi-Fi regulations. Mentioned here:

I don't work for Google.

Hello!  Thank you kindly for the responses!

As it turned out, the unit I ordered from Amazon was for Europe with an adapter to US.

I ended up returning that one and ordering one for the US (1200 Model) it connected to the existing mesh system on the first go.

Thank you so much again!
