Backup Nest Wifi configuration?

HansEnders
Community Member

Is there any method to save the full configuration for the home network, in case a router reset is needed?

I am accustomed to using Linksys routers, whose administrative browser interface allows for downloading a back-up (*.cfg file). Sometimes there may be a technical problem, calling for resetting the router to factory defaults. If that is needed, I would prefer to have a backed up configuration I can easily reapply to the now virginal router. This can save a lot of typos and other user errors to get the network back to where it was prior to the reset.

@HansEnders

Google Nest's recommendation when getting a new router/modem is to set the network name (SSID) and password on the new router/modem to the same values used on your old router/modem. That's what we did when we got a new router/modem, and we didn't have to update any of our Google Nest devices.
