Can I have more than one Nest Wifi Router on the same network

Frank_Meerkamp

I have a large house with two detached separate structures. Each structure is hard wired with an ethernet cable. Can I place one Nest Wifi Router in my main house with a few Nest Wifi points in some of the rooms in the main house and use a second and third Nest Wifi Router for my two detached structures. Can they all be on the same network name or do I need to create multiple homes? In other words does Nest Wifi support having multipe Wifi Routers hard wired on the same network?

It depends on what you are going for, if you want them all on the same network then they would need to be within wireless range of each other.. if you want to have different networks (main house, second house, third house) then that's fine too.

Hello @Frank_Meerkamp

You can do this. Just follow the guidelines in this support page: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7215624?hl=en

The key is to make sure any wired secondary Nest WiFi Routers are connected via Ethernet through the primary Nest WiFi Router's LAN Ethernet port. You can't connect them to an "outer" network that the primary Nest WiFi Router's WAN Ethernet port is connected to.

I'm good for now. I bought 3 routers and a 6 points and will try to install next weekend. Worst case I will do as suggested to create multiple wifi (Main house, Pool house, Tennis Court area etc.) Thank you for your help everyone. Frank
