I changed my interenet provider to Optimum.  Installed their modem (router?).  Can i still use my old Google nest extenders to improve wifi signal upstairs etc.?  How do I set it up. I plugged it into the router, but the light just flashes yellow.  thank you.

Hi mkout,

Thanks for posting in the community! I appreciate the update about your new internet service provider, and I understand you want to use your Google Wifi extenders to boost your signal and are looking for setup guidance. I'm happy to assist you.

The flashing yellow light on your device indicates a network error or that it's not receiving an internet signal. We'll work through this to get you connected.

To help me understand and assist you better, please answer the following questions:

  • Are you referring to a Google Nest Wifi router and its associated Mesh Wifi points, or a Google Wifi system?
  • What is the model of your Google Nest extender? (e.g., Google Wifi point, Nest Wifi point, Nest Wifi router.) You can check this Google Nest Help Center article to identify your device: Tech specs for Nest Wifi Pro, Nest Wifi, and Google Wifi.
  • What is the model number of the modem/router you received from Optimum?

Your answers will help me identify the most effective setup options for your home network.

I look forward to your response so we can work on this together.

Regards,

Humberto
