Can a nest point be used on a google Wi-Fi router.

Can I use a nest point on an older generation google Wi-Fi router?  I know the you can use the older on a newer nest Wi-Fi, but would it work the other way. 

basically I am trying to upgrade my system to the nest and move my system to my parents home, but they need more points and I don't need the 3 points that I would be getting.
