Can't connect Nest WiFi point

I got a brand new Nest WiFi Router and 1 x point today.

The Router set up perfectly without any issues. The Point powered up fine, then announced itself and said to set up through the home up (which is where I set up the router). When trying to add it, I get the message:

"Nest Wifi point found. It needs to be activated before setup.

This device has a few extra steps before you can start setup. Go to the Help Centre to learn more."

This leads me to this post:

"Activate your device for setup

Download the Device Utility app from the Google Play Store.

Open the Device Utility app.

Follow the in-app steps to activate your device. This step should only take a couple of minutes.

Once your device is activated, you should be taken to the Google Home app to finish setup."

I installed the utility, it finds the point, and tells me to turn off WiFi so it can connect via Bluetooth. This then leads to attempting to find out and noting happening even though its there. Looking at reviews on the device utility app I took the advice to quickly reconnect WiFi and presto, it finds the point, asks me to scan the QR sticker on it, confirm the nest WiFi to add it to, and it says its successful and to then go back to Google home to finish setup.

Going back to Google home starts the whole process again, prompting me to install the Device Utility. I get nowhere. My point cannot be found (lol) and doesn't respond to Hey Google. I have factory rest twice, and nothing.

Can anyone help???

Hi djp1981,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with setting up your Wifi point. To isolate the issue if this has something to do with the Google Home app not recognizing your Wifi point as activated, could you try clearing the Google Home app's cache?

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Edward
