Cannot Disable Bridge Mode

Loonie8
Community Member

I just got the Nest Pro, with two devices.  Set up the first one fine.  When I go to connect the second one, it says the device is in bridge mode and needs to be disabled in the app settings in order to connect.  I keep disabling bridge mode and going choosing NAT (standard) mode, saving it, and it defaults back to bridge mode.  Using IOS for set up if that makes a different.
I restarted my phone, I updated the Google Home app, nothing.
Please help!  Thanks!

Hi!  Thanks for checking in!  I've bypassed the first problem, but still struggling.  I am trying to connect two next devices.  The first (main) one is good.  On the second one, I am able to go through all the steps and it says connected....  until it asks for the location of the device, i.e. bedroom, kitchen, living room.  When I choose kitchen, it then says it can't be connected.

Any tips?

Hey everyone,

@Loonie8, thanks for the update. Could you send a screenshot of the message you're getting for our reference? If possible, try using a different device to set up your other Nest Wifi Pro points.

Appreciate your help here, @LovelyM.

Regards,
Abi

Hi!  thanks for reaching out again!  I've been trying different things to connect this second device to complete the Mesh.  I have resolved the bridge mode thing, it seems, cuz I don't have that pop up any more.  Where it stands now... I can go through the whole connection process successfully, but when the last step asks me to choose the location for the device, I click Kitchen and get a "Something Went Wrong" message (see image).  I've unplugged and replugged the device many times, going through this same procedure in the app, both on my phone and my iPad with no luck.

If it matters, this second mesh router device shows up as an option under wifi in my settings, so I know it is receiving some info - but I just can't get it to link up in Google Home to the first device in my office.

Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Hello there Loonie8,

If you haven't already, go ahead and factory reset this Google Nest Wifi Pro before getting it added to your mesh network again. You might also try using a different phone or tablet to configure the device.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,
Lovely
