Cannot connect Genie AladdinConnect samrt device

ChrisPass

I am not able to set up the Genie AladdinConnect smart device with Nest WiFi due to only one SSID for both 2.4 and 5G.  The device will not see the network.  How can i get around this?

So the answer is to but another access point.  That's a great solution.  I should have bought another mesh system other than google.

That. Or ask IoT device manufacturer to push an update to make it work. Or buy IoT devices that supports one SSID with both 2.4ghz and 5ghz.

Hey, ChrisPass.

Is the network entirely invisible to the smart device you're trying to connect, or is it visible but unable to connect? Let me know if you can at least see the network with the device, even if it won't connect.

Thanks.

I saw it and when I tried to reply, I received a non-deliverable..  The device does not see the network at all.  Assuming it has to do with only broadcasting one SSID for both 2.4 and 5G.

Hey, ChrisPass.

You're correct in that it's a single SSID for both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. Some devices don't handle that setup well, but as it's becoming more common, I'm hoping to see updated firmware for devices that don't do it smoothly now. It might be worth contacting the device manufacturer to see if they have any plans on updating their hardware to allow for more compatibility.

Thanks.
