Trying to set up nest wifi router and cannot get it to connect to the modem. Have spoken to my ISP twice and they can't understand why as the huawei hg659 modem is working fine on its own.
Go through the set up via Google home, all looks promising until the last step where it tells me it's failed, and to reboot, or update WAN settings. I then update the WAN settings to PPPoE and once that's done it says I have no internet connectivity, so it can't go any further. I have also tried rebooting at this stage to no avail.
Have tried putting the modem in bridge mode but I lose all internet connection, so it won't connect.
If anyone can help that would be great. I've exhausted all troubleshooting I've found online.
And yes, have turned it on and off again multiple times as well as reset the modem 😉
I also have a point to connect but I obviously haven't been able to get to that yet.

Maybe you'll find some relevant info in this thread?

Hiya, yes I've tried this multiple times and bridge mode takes the internet offline so I cannot add a new device in Google home.

Hi, Conn3ctAU.
Sorry for the late reply here, but I wanted to jump in and see if you were able to sort this out or to see if you still needed some help. If you're still not able to get things running, I would be happy to jump in on this. Let me know if you need some help still.
Thanks,
- Jeff
