Connecting Nest to Vodafone Super WIFI

Hi Nest Community

I posted a question in here a while ago but I think it timed out due to inactivity (sorry about that!).

I have recently moved ISP providers onto Vodafone Super WIFI and I just cannot get my Google Nest WIFI to work with it at all despite many different attempts.  I can see that others in here have succeeded so I am obviously doing something wrong but I just don't know what.  And it's driving me a little mad now!!!

The Vodafone router on it's own works fine but I have various google mesh points and I would like to get them back up and running if I can.  It all worked fine with my previous ISP which was plusnet.

The new Vodafone router (model THG3000) is connected via ethernet to the incoming fibre box (not through the phone line anymore) and then I have connected the Google Nest WIFI router to one of the ethernet ports at the back of the Vodafone router and the "Globe" ethernet output of the Nest.  Once all turned on I am getting the flashing white light on the Nest.

I had previously removed the Nest WIFI from my Google Home app so I am then going in there to set it up again, but it just won't find it.  I go through the setup of a new device - tell it that I am setting up WIFI and choose the "Nest" WIFI from the list - I get the balancing coloured shapes telling me that it has found something, but then it goes back to the screen asking me what I want to setup again.  So I did it all again but it just goes round and round in circles.  And that is as far as I have got as I cannot go any further.

Like I say I am obviously doing something wrong but I just don't know what.  If anyone can give some advice I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks

Matt

Hi Matt,

Try these alternative steps:

  1. Open your phone’s Wi-Fi settings, then find the Wi-Fi network that matches the sticker on the bottom of the router. Connect to this network using the setup code on the bottom of the router as the password, then return to the Google Home app to continue setup.

  2. If the router still doesn’t appear in the Home app, try a factory reset and wait for the light to slowly pulse white, then start setup again. A factory reset can take up to 10 minutes. Make sure to wait until the process is complete before you start setup.

Thanks for the reply.  can you let me know how I factory reset the Google Nest WIFI?  From what I can see the only way to do this is through the Google Home app and as my Nest WIFI isn't currently in my Google Home app I have no idea how to do this.

Thanks, Matt

You'll need to use the physical factory button on the device itself:
