Connecting a USB drive

Hi I would like to connect a USB drive to the Lan Port of a Google wifi to serve as a network drive? Will a a USB ethernet adapter work? Do I have to power the UB drive?

Not possible. You should look into getting a NAS (network attached storage), or dedicate a old computer for this task.

Thank you. I was hoping it was possible as I was looking for a low cost solution. Will look into a low cost Nas solution. Any  suggestions like a pi or raspberry computer? Thank you again

Hmm, maybe buy a used Synology or QNAP that is still supported? But if you like tinkering:
