Connection Issues, Firmware Update

bryher

I've been having horrible connectivity issues for months now and just recently found this forum. Read through an entire thread with tons of people having the same issue. Assuming the issue hasnt been completely resolved?

At minimum, and to start, I thought I'd make sure my setup has the latest firmware. As I understand its supposed to happen automatically.  But how do I know that for sure. Where do I see my devices firmware #?

BTW I first purchased my 3 pack in 2018 (says it was a 2016 model on Amazon NLS-1304-25) and then an extra puck in 2021 (AC2200) .

Firmware: You can get latest firmware version number from here (bellow), and check it against what Google Home says your pucks got.

Connection issues: What issues specifically? If I were you I'd use the newest puck, the AC2200 one, as main puck, because it has greater Wi-Fi range, faster Wi-Fi, and more powerful hardware (CPU, RAM) than the Google Wifi 1st gen.

Replacing the main puck requires you to factory reset the whole network and set it up from scratch though. But that might be a good idea anyway, could fix strange issues.

I don't work for Google.

Hi thanks for responding. Where would I look to see which version my wifi mesh has? I cant find it in the Google Home app.

I'll check but Im pretty sure I did make the newer puck the main one when I bought it.  Will check when I get home.

And the issue I'm having is the same as detailed in this thread. I'm following that for any new information. But figured I'd start with firmware.
