Connection failed when trying to setup google wifi + google pods

Google Wifi Mesh worked like a charm until it was migrated to Google Home. After doing a factory reset of all pods to resolve issues, I cannot reconnect any pods anymore. I added the pods by clicking on set up device in Google Home app > new device > select the correct home. Google Home App recognizes the pods, but after scanning the pods I always get the message: Connection Failed. I tried several pods, factory reset multiple times, and even tried to add the pods manually, all to no avail. I still don't have mesh wifi available. I'm very dissapointed with the failed migration to Google Home app. How can I resolve this issue? Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you factory reset your whole network including the master/ primary, not just the nodes?

Can also be worth trying to set up the network from a different device than the one you've already tried. Any device you can get the Google Home app installed on.

I don't work for Google.

Thank you for your reply! Yes, I did factory reset the whole network including the primary which also gives the same error code: connection failed. I haven't tried to install the Google Home app yet on another device. Will do that at the first opportunity. Thanks for that suggestion!

I downloaded Google Home on a different phone and tried to setup Google Wifi that way. Unfortunately, this didn’t work either. Same error: unable to connect. Connection failed. Any other suggestions about what I could try? I’m getting desperate. Or maybe you know how to get in touch with google support? Thanks a lot for your help!

If all your pucks have ethernet ports, you could try to set up the secondaries while they are wired to the primary node like so:

If you succeed you can disconnect them from cable and place them where you like afterwards.

Side question that might be relevant: Where did you buy your Google Nest Wifi pucks, and in what country are you located? US pucks in Norway for instance (where I'm at) cause problems.

I bought and use them in the US. I will try to connect the pods using the ethernet cable. Thanks for that suggestion. Will let you know if it works

Unfortunately, connecting the pods directly to the router didn't work either 😞

Hey, bartv01.

I wanted to follow up to see if you were able to get this worked out. I'm sorry for the frustration you've had getting your points set up. If you're still trying to get these working and still can't, please let me know and we can look deeper into what might be going on with these WiFi points.

Thanks.
