The Google Home app provides a feature called Wi-Fi pause that allows you to easily control when devices are connected to the internet, either on demand or on a schedule.
Please note that this feature may not work correctly with devices that use a private address or randomized MAC address. If you experience issues, you may need to disable this setting on your device.
Here are the instructions on how to pause and resume the internet for your devices:
Pause a Specific Device
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap the Wi-Fi icon.
- Tap on the Devices section.
- Find and tap the device you want to pause.
- Tap Pause device, choose the duration, and then Save.
Reconnecting a Paused Device
If you accidentally pause the device you are using to access the Google Home app, you can use one of these methods to get back online:
- Turn off your phone's Wi-Fi and use your mobile data to access the Google Home app and unpause the device.
- Use another device with the Google Home app installed to unpause the first one.
- Use a different phone or hotspot to provide a Wi-Fi connection for your device, then use the app to unpause it.
