Does the google wifi (old one not nest) work with the new Verizon router G3100

Sorry for the late response here, but I wanted to check in to see if you were still looking for an answer on this. The Google WiFi would work with Verizon router you mentioned. While some routers have different needs to work correctly during setup, you'll be fine with your new router as long as it has an ethernet out port for the WiFi router to connect to.

Thanks you for taking the time to respond.  I have it connected all is good but am not getting top speed via wifi for some reason.  I may have to upgrade to a Wifi 6 mesh.

How far off are your actual speeds from your expected speeds? Are they really slow compared to what you should be getting? I want to make sure there's not a bigger issue going on there.

I get 90 - 97 MBS both up and down near the main router and 80+ up and 45+down at the remote routers.  Thinking about doing a complete factory reset.

I did factory reset yesterday. I get 106 download  and 65 upload. I guess I am stuck at these speeds until I upgrade to WiFi 6.

There is a firmware coming soon to Google WiFi that might improve performance as well. Once that update hits, we can see if anything changes with your network speeds.

Just to give you some additional info, the update version for both Google WiFi and Nest WiFi will be 14150.43.80. If you are seeing a different version number when you check in Google Home, you have yet to receive the updated firmware. Let me know if you have any questions about that.

I gave my Google WiFi to my son and got the new WiFi 6 router from Verizon for free because of the issues. All is well now. Thanks
