Gifted (used) Google WiFi Mesh Issues

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer to a semi-techy guy.

My brother sent me a Google WiFi system he wasn't able to use anymore. I did a full factory reset and got a blinking white light, and the Google Home app recognizes it. But in the connection stage, it keeps saying it can't connect and the device is never added to my devices in the app. I've done all the troubleshooting steps multiple times, but can't seem to get anywhere. I'm stuck in a loop of disappointment.

Anyone out there with any advice?

Hi Titan415,

Thanks for posting in the community. I understand that the Google Wifi system you received as a gift can't be added to the Google Home app. Even after factory resetting it and getting the blinking white light, it keeps saying it can't connect. I appreciate all the troubleshooting steps you've already taken. It's certainly understandable that you're feeling disappointed when some devices aren't working as they should. I'm here to help!

To isolate the root cause of the inconvenience, I'd like to ask the following questions:

  • What's your Google Wifi specific model? Please check the following link for your reference: Tech specs for Nest Wifi Pro, Nest Wifi, and Google Wifi
  • Did the previous owner delete it from their account?
  • Are you using the original power cable that came with the Google Wifi device?

Please keep me posted. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
Juan
