Google Home app can't find Nest wifi points (but Nest router works)

I'm trying to repurpose a Nest router and (2) Nest points in a new location after moving them cross country.

I deleted the old home in my Google Home app, and I *think* (but I can't be sure) I did a factory reset on the Nest router and points.

Using the Google Home app I was able to (re-)configure the Nest router for the new location: It works with my new modem, and my devices see the new Nest mesh network as an available wifi network to connect to

...but there's only that one Nest router active, it's not (yet) really a mesh network. Because every time I go to the next step in the Home app to add the additional Nest wifi points, I get the "No devices found" alert.

"Are you setting up a device?" it asks; I click "Yes"

"Plug in your device" it tells me. I do; I wait 45 seconds. (Right now the light underneath the Nest point is pulsing slowly...I can't tell if it's a white light or a yellow-ish amber light though, could that be significant?)

I click the "Try Again" button in the Home app..."Looking for devices" ...and yet again, "No devices found"

Any ideas? If this help: This Nest equipment is ~4 or 5 years old. As far as I can tell the wifi points do *not* have a hard-wired Factory Reset switch on them, just the speaker/mic on-off switch. They do still have their original QR codes on the bottom, but scanning that just takes me to some Google query form.

HELP!!!  Thanks.

Hi @Bob_Ross

The colour of the light is significant, see here for more details:

To factory reset your Nest Wifi points, you'll need to use the physical button on the bottom. Check for a circle etched into the bottom, it looks like this.

  1. Turn the device on and wait for it to finish booting (approx. 1 minute).
  2. Press and hold the factory reset button on your point.
  3. After about 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold the button for about 10 seconds, until there's a sound confirming the device is resetting.

Woo-hoo, that worked! Thank you so much!

Between my dwindling eyesight and the layer of dust on the bottom of my Nest points, I *never* would have seen that reset button without the image you provided. Thanks again...next beer is on me.
