Google Mesh loses connectivity to Xfinity router wifi

We have been happily using the Google mesh extenders at our home, connecting the main pod via network cable to the Xfinity router.  Great system, very happy.  Recently, around 4-5am, I've gotten a Google Home notification that the Google network has lost wifi.  Each time, I've rebooted both the Google and Xfinity routers and found that the Xfinity has wifi, the Google mesh doesn't.  Nothing I've done changes that other than just waiting it out....or switching to the Xfinity router network to get wifi.  That is a poor option since it doesn't cover the whole house, thus the use of the Google mesh network installation.  Help?

I'd look into avoiding double NAT, as Nest Wifi is known to handle that very poorly. More on that:

Here's what Xfinity says about putting their wireless gateway in bridge mode a) use your own router (which the primary Nest Wifi unit will act like) and b) to avoid double NAT when doing so.

I don't work for Google.
