I have a Google Nest Wi-Fi Access point which the volume varies. I'm hoping to find a way to disable the speaker.

I need it for an access point but constat beeping is annoying.

Yes, I still unable to disable the speaker. Tapping 10 times on the left top only mute the volume but doesn't disable the speaker.

Hi grc4,

Thanks for the response. Turning off the microphone prevents the Nest Wifi point from listening or responding to your queries. You can continue to use it as a speaker via Cast or Bluetooth. Please click on this link to learn more about this.

Thanks,

Edward

Ed,

The access point is defective and muting the mic doesn't help. I need to disable the speaker. The volume randomly goes to 100% without any interaction. I just need the access point and not the speaker to work.

Hi grc4,

Thanks for the update. You could try to reset the Nest Wifi point back to factory defaults and during setup, do not enable the Google Assistant.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Edward

 Hi Ed,

Resetting the access point didn't work. Do you have a hardware fix to disable the speaker?

Hi grc4,

Thanks for the update. We don't have an option to completely disable the speaker. What we can only do is not enable the Google Assistant. Could you tell us what the speaker is doing that you want to disable?

Thanks,

Edward

Hi grc4,

Please avoid dismantling your Google Wifi as it may void your warranty.

Mel,

It is Out of Warranty! I have been down this path multiple times with Google Tech Support.

I did but your are not willing to share the instruction to unassemble the nest. It is out of warranty and I'm a Electronic technician, so no, the question wasn't answered with satisfaction.
