Google Wi-Fi stopped working (once again)

Perkele
Community Member

My setup:

3 Google Nest Routers (one as a primary, two just to extend connectivity)

5 Google Nest Points

(+Chromecasts, speakers, lots of other stuff...)

My setup has been working more or less steadily for several months, yet yesterday "everything broke down" and routers gave me constant red light.

After factory-resetting and re-installing everything, the Wi-Fi connectivity just does not work anymore.

I cannot even finish the setup for all the Points, the 5th one does not allow setup process go through.

Ps. Whili having smaller hick-ups almost daily basis, I've left (literally) dozens of feedbacks with logs and everything via Google Home -app, yet I have not a single time received any kind of response, nor a single thing getting corrected.

Hi Perkele,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with setting up your Google Wifi after the issue. i'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What's the status light of the parent point?
  • Are you getting any messages when you try to set up the 5th point?
  • How far is the 5th point from the parent point?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi everyone,

Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.

Thanks,
Jeff
