Hello -
I'm looking for an update to see if there has been any updates on this closed thread - (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Wifi/Stop-automatic-reset-of-Google-router/m-p/463681)
I'm in the same situation as the original poster. I have a summer home\camp that has no power/internet for 7 months out of the year, so Google WiFi can't check in during that time. When I arrived the past two years (I thought it was a fluke the first year it happened), as soon as the Google WiFi connected to the Internet, it factory reset itself and made me reconfigure my whole network again. This was never disclosed when I bought these units and took me while to even find this information (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6246619?hl=en#:~:text=After%206%20months%2C%20Google%20....) after the second time it happened (I figured it wasn't a fluke again).
So, have any updates been made to allow this "feature" to be turned off, or at least extended to 1 year of being offline before it factory resets itself? I don't mind, and completely agree with the Google WiFi updating it's firmware on initial connection, but I believe factory defaulting the unit is unnecessary. I guess shame on me for putting faith into a "cloud product" that takes most/all of the control out of the hands of the consumer.
If this is not possible, I'll have to look for a different solution (which won't be cloud based).
Thank you.

Hey ezuser,
This does sound frustrating for your specific use case. However, the device is working properly, as Google WiFi or Nest WiFi will delete the app data and cloud data after 6 months of being powered off/disconnected. There's not a way to toggle this option, but the teams are always looking for feedback. If you'd like, you can submit feedback through the Google Home app by selecting the menu in the top right and then tapping "Send feedback."
Thank you,
Nery.

My google nest wifi router keeps restarting on its own and its getting real annoying. The below mentioned is what I have done so far that didn't help.
Please get back to me on how to resolve this issue as this has been ongoing for the past year.

Having same issue here with nest wifi pro. Brand new, upgraded from the ac2200 version which has no issues like this. Also tried replacing the router with another node, same problem. When I notice the connection loss the router shows an amber light until it returns to the solid white it should stay as and then comes back. Happen roughly ever 1-2 hours.

and it seems to be a totally unrelated issue that you moved this thread to.

So after a lot of testing and short of not having to factory reset I figured it out. I had the cable modem to the nest wifi to switch. Then one of the other nodes I had from wall to nest nose to PC. If the PC was connected to the nest hub, it would reset randomly every 1-2 hours. So I put the PC back on from the wall and moved the node to another room and wired it up. Since then no restarts. So as another test I connected my laptop via Ethernet to the node I moved and sure enough, it restarted again.

I have this problem at my cabin and it's super annoying as my Dad opens up the cabin and can't configure the network without me.
