Google WiFi Speeds

I am using Model Gj2CQ - Software Version 14150.376.32

Trouble is I am hardwired on my desktop, paying for and getting 1 gig download speed consistently. 
Wifi speeds (on phone and laptops) and right next to the router are not even getting up into the 50 mbps.  There must be a setting or something keeping my wifi speeds down. Router is centrally located in the house.
Firmware? Software?

Thanks for posting — let's get this sorted out. Have you tried to run a speed test directly from your internet modem? Connect a computer/laptop to your internet modem using an Ethernet cord, and then go to this link to run the test. Confirm the obtained speeds at the modem are within 80% of your expected bandwidth.

On my hardwired desktop I consistently am running at these speeds. Its cable and not fiber which is why the upload speeds are where they are.  950 to 975 Mbps Download - 40 to 50 Mbps Upload.  (Could not upload the screen shot)

Thanks for checking. How many Google Wifi devices do you have and what is their distance from each other? The placement of your Google Wifi is vital for the reliability of your Wi-Fi network throughout your home. Kindly visit Where to place your Wifi devices. If the issue persists, try doing the troubleshooting steps below:

1. Open the Google Home app.
2. Tap Wi-Fi > Settings > Advanced Networking.
3. Tap DNS.
4. Select Custom and enter “8.8.8.8” and “8.8.4.4”.
5. Go back to Wi-Fi > Settings.
6. Tap Privacy Settings.
7. Toggle Nest Wifi cloud services off and on, then tap Save.
8. Restart your entire network.
9. If the issue persists, factory reset the mesh point.
