Google WiFi: Unreliable Device connection history in «Google Home app»

How come the event history data quality is gradually deteriorating?

Device connection events (most, not all) disappear after 4-5 days.

This is likely not  by design as some events remain. If the remaining events are caused by a bug, you should at least give a notification, or have the dates available in the date picker greyed out.

Never had the problem in the Google WiFi app. Issue is present on all platforms.

Hi hauklandsverk2,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with the device connection history with the Google WiFi device and the Google Home app. I understand how frustrating it can be when things don't work as expected. But don't worry; help is here. In this case, I just need to ask for some information to provide the best solution:

  • Do you see any error code when you are trying to access the history?
  • When did the issue start?
  • What steps did you try to solve the solution?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Jenny

Hi hauklandsverk2,

Thanks for your reply and the information provided. I just need to ask for some information to better understand the situation:

  • What app are you trying to use to see the device connection history?
  • In what platforms do you see this problem?

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,
Jenny

Hi hauklandsverk2,

Thanks for the update. I understand that you are using the Google Home app on iOS and Android versions, and both are presenting the same situation, and now the device's connection history is completely empty. Don't worry; I can help. In this case you can try the next steps with the Google Home app:

  • Check internet connectivity and ensure that your device has a stable internet connection and is working properly.
  • Please restart the Google Home app by closing the Google Home app completely and then reopening it.
  • Restart your mobile device; sometimes, restarting your smartphone can resolve app-related issues. Turn off your device, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Clear app cache and data. If the Google Home app continues to malfunction, try clearing the app's cache and data.
  • And the last step will be to try to delete and reinstall the Google Home app. This simple step can resolve temporary glitches or issues with the app.

Please let me know how that goes.

Best regards,
Jenny
