Google Wifi Pro - issues with everything 😢

We upgraded our google hub to google wifi pro since it was too old and no longer receiving updates. It has been extremely disappointing. Nothing but problems to connect our chromecasts, Yale lock, camera and now thermostat. We managed to get our chromecast set up after buying a new 4K one which we don’t think we needed to do once we figured out to temp disable 5ghz on wifi to get it to connect. Our door lock has never been able to reconnect to wifi and now our thermostat continually goes offline saying our wifi password has changed. We have done every tip online from rebooting, resetting, factory reset and still having issues. Sad that we are having so much trouble since we are so invested into google and made the extra purchase for this wifi. Any help?

Since no one has offered to help, I will.  I have many of the devices you have, and also “upgraded” to the Nest Pro.  I had nothing but problems, disconnections, and slow speeds with my fiber gigabit connection.  I returned the Nest Pro and moved to a single TP-Link Wi-Fi 6E Router, however I will tell you that prior to the upgrade experience, I was running the previous Google Nest Router and had absolutely no problems with it.  From your comments, I am assuming that you were using the ORIGINAL Google Mesh  Wi-Fi system.  I suggest that while you can, you return the Nest Pro system, and “downgrade” one step from that to the previous Nest Mesh hardware.  Also, since you are trying the Nest Pro, I am assuming you don’t need one of the nodes to act as a smart speaker.  Since in the previous iteration of the Nest Mesh, the “router” can also act as a mesh node, don’t buy the “two pack” or “three pack”…..those contain a “Router” and either two or three nodes that can act as a smart speaker.  Those nodes’ speed is 1/2 the speed of the “router”, thus slowing down the entire system.  Just buy one, two or three “routers”.  They each have speeds of 2200 Mbps, then set up the single primary “router” and add the additional routers as mesh nodes.  An additional advantage to this is that each of the router hardware units has two Ethernet ports that can be used as you desire.  Finally, the system as I have described it will be cheaper than what you spent for the Nest Pro, and I believe you would be very happy with it.

Thanks so much for the feedback. Yes we also had the previous Google nest version and it worked great. Between my wife and I we have spent well over 20hrs troubleshooting all the issues it caused with our system and devices and we are still having devices drop off or still can't be connected....  We will take your advice and return the Nest Pro.

Much appreciated!
