Google Wifi point keeps dropping the connection

The point is less than 10 feet from the main Google Wifi router.  The main Google Wifi router has consistent internet coming into it from the modem. We live in an apartment that has multiple wifi networks nearby. Is there a way for me to test if neighboring wifi networks are affecting my wifi network?  If they are, can I use a network channel that is unique so that my Wifi network isn't competing and therefore not being affected by neighboring wifi networks?

I figured out my problem. Essentially Spectrum's (my internet provider) cables coming into my apartment where not all connected. As a result, the internet that was coming into my modem then my Google Nest Router was intermittent/not stable. Once they corrected this issue, my Google Nest router and Google Nest Point maintained stable connections.

Hey, cnfeliciano.

Sorry to hear about your connection issues. I imagine that's quite frustrating. Let's take a look at the situation and see what we can do.

We do have a help article that addresses network interference and what to do in order to troubleshoot issues. You can find that article here: https://bit.ly/3ocZ7aj

After running through the article and seeing what applies to you, hopefully you can find a reliable fix. If you are still having issues, please come back and let me know and we can continue to work on this.

Thanks.

I have actioned the suggestions in the article you shared Jeff yet I am still experiencing issues with interference if my Wifi network.  I have had some limited success by unplugging the  Nest wifi point and then replugging it to electricity.  The connection restablishes but it then it loses connection again.  I have been troubleshooting it with the Google Wifi care team and I have yet to find a solution.  We have reset the Nest Wifi router to factory settings, ensured there are no symbols in the wifi name and under the direction of the Google Wifi care rep, reconnected the Best wifi point to a lower IP or Frequency.  (I am not sure exactly what low connection it established but the rep could access my home wifi network and could tell that the Point connected to a low frequency or other type of connection.). If I had to guess at this point, my Nest Wifi point is damaged somehow.  Maybe it's software damage because it has not been mistreated and has mostly been in storage for the last 3 months.  Prior to that it worked without issue for about a year.

Same problem. I have Google nest router with 4 nest points and the last 3 to 4 weeks the WiFi drops out constantly everyday. Tried a Netcomm router to test and it doesn’t drop out at all. Yesterday I put a replacement Google nest router under warranty but it does the same thing. Very annoying.

I'm seeing this as well. At least 3-4 times a day usually around the same time.

I am seeing this as well. I have 6 points. 3 x Gen 1 and 3 x Gen 2.

I see at least 4 to 5 times a day. Wired network connections do not get any interruptions, only wifi connected devices.

Hey, all.

This has been an issue that has been evolving and we're finding more people who are affected. We have internal teams working on this and we're hoping to have a fix soon. Right now I don't have any new info to share, but I'll update the thread as soon as I have something. Thanks for staying patient as we look into this.

Thanks.

Hey, everyone.

It's been some time and I'm checking in to see if anyone is still having issues here. Our internal teams were able to verify a partial outage with Spectrum that may be the culprit here, but if anyone is still seeing issues, please let me know and we can look at additional causes.

Thanks!

Hi, everyone.
As we haven't had any activity here recently I'm going to go ahead and close the thread. If you have more to add, feel free to start a new discussion.
Thanks

I’m seeing a similar issue.  Hardwired a PC to monitor my internet and it’s fine.  The nest units drop out daily and their is no debug information.     4 units and a base station.  Any way to upgrade firmware?
