Google nest router can’t add google wifi points

Missb
Community Member

I have all google wifi router and points and I just bought google nest router and one point based from recommendation it states that it’s best to use the google nest router than the google wifi.

so I deleted my previous google home and start to set up the google nest as my router and then added one nest as point but when I am adding the google wifi points it won’t connect. I can’t add it.

I don’t have the latest version of google nest and google wifi so incompatibility is not tye issue.

I tried using google wifi as my router then added all my google nest and wifi as points and it works.

I just can’t understand why I can’t use google nest as my main router.
any suggestion pls

See following Google Support guide for "Troubleshoot setup with iOS":
https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/12961504?hl=en

---

Make sure the device used for the setup process with the Google Home app have no VPN enabled/ connected; not any 3rd party product, nor the "Apple iCloud Private Relay" ( https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212614 ).

Make sure the Google Home app has been granted permission for "local network access" ( https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/7172427?hl=en ).

While connected to the Google Wifi/ Nest Wifi wireless network with your iPhone or iPad and doing work with the Google Home app, make sure following settings is disabled:
• "HTTP Proxy" ( https://www.expressvpn.com/support/troubleshooting/disable-proxy-safari/#ios ).
• "Limit IP Address Tracking".
• "Private IP Address", also known as "MAC randomization" ( https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/security/secb9cb3140c/web ).

When adding additional points: IPv6 on Nest Wifi has caused strange problems lately. One thing to try is to disable IPv6 ( https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6361450?hl=en ), add new Nest Wifi unit, then leave IPv6 off or enable it again.

---

If nothing of the above works, try from a different iOS, iPadOS or Android device, using the Google Home app with the same Google account, or a Google account that has been granted access to the specific Google Home home ( https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9155535?hl=en ).
